Collection of small features that should have been here by now.
A list of small features or improvements that should have been in the game by now, by Deleet.
I wanted a complete list of small and minor features that would help a lot and still be relatively small. Sorted by category. I put what I could immidiately think of, I will post more later as I think of them.
The idea of this is to make a "to do list", to Anet with small features that would enhance the gameplay without taking too much developer time.
Templates:
Ability to send templates in-game, without having to be on a character of that profession.
It seemed obvious to me, I have no idea why this was not included by the time they first included templates.
Map:
Better world traveling, simply switching maps without having to go to a capitol city.
Because it wastes time, especially for players with lower-end computers, and because there seems to be no reason to travel to a set location first.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10005087
Interface:
A countdown timer for drunk effects.
Why not? - The mechanics are already there for Sugar rush.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10140421
Allow the leader to sort the positions of players in the party window.
Inviting and kicking is unneeded.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...d.php?t=143204
Display players by their account names.
Since the new feature is here, why not use it?
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10140222
A ready botton.
No more of "type your number when ready" and problems when players weren't ready
Ability to kick/ban heroes of other players as the leader.
Because its just annoying when you have to repeat over and over not to add heroes.
A 50% mark on the health bar.
A lot of skills are dependent on a this 50% mark, yet there is no way to tell it. Especially, if you due to DP or morale boost have an odd health number.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10042762
Allow us to select which login screen to use.
This should be fairly easy to do, since they are already made.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10046254
Gameplay:
Don't put bosses at the end of missions or give us time to cap their skills.
Self evident.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s....php?t=3023000
Misc.:
Ability to show your lower-rank emotes, even when you are high ranking.
Since the ability is already there and it has already been earned, why not allow this?
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s....php?t=3005034
Post recent game updates on the login screen.
Why would you want to boot up your browser, when the game already has an in-game annoucement system?
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=32470
Give alliances controlling outposts the option to open up the Elite Missions to all players.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s....php?t=3014025
Eliminating feries, while still giving the power to the Alliances controlling the towns.
Combining Tool Kits (ID or Salvage), adding up the uses left
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s....php?t=3014265
Showing percentage of each area explored.

Great ideas there. I would also like to say that an Alliance Roster (if possible to implement) would fit nicely.

Except for the "Combining Tool Kits (ID or Salvage)"
I think the point of the Superior Salvage and Identify kits were to be a minor money sink. If not, then just ignore me.

don't forget the need to add little notes to friends names. (For example, when you add a friends you can write why they added them or their real name to help you remember). I doubt it not just me that can't remember who the 30+ people in my friends list are.

/signed, especially for number one. It is ridiculous you have to open the GW folder, and find the template code in order to send a build to your monk.
Good idea, bad implementation.
Also, how about them being more... Ambitious about the new Account Name system? Use the Account Name for not only tournaments, but also your identification in the guild window, and the friend list of others.

some very simple ideas that would improve the game.
especially how they put bosses you want to cap from at the end of the mission and the cutscene kicks in as your using cap sig. pointless.

I wanted to keep the ideas small and simple.
I'm not sure about the "Friendlist note idea", it will require Anet to upgrade their databases again, which will cost time and money. Therefore it does not qualify as a small feature.
About the map, Batmaniii, your idea does not solve the problem that I wanted to solve. Your idea allows players to travel to other cities instead of a set capital. But I wanted to eliminate the need to travel to a city at first, just switch maps instead.
Dj Tano, added.

Some very good ideas. Perhaps a hotkey to open storage while in outposts as well. It gets old running for 15 minutes across a map to grab a weapon set.

Nice of you to bring them all to one post.
I esp like the map idea.

Nice of you to compliment and encourage blatant disregard for forum rules.
READ FIRST - Suggestion Forum Guidelines
Quote:
- Always use the search button before posting a new thread to see if your ideas been suggested before.
- Always check the stickied Index of Ideas to see if your idea can be found in there.
- If your idea is a slight change of another suggestion that's already been suggested, don't post a new thread on it, post it in the existing thread and continue the discussion over the general idea.
- Make sure your thread titles list your idea. Don't post threads with vague titles like "Greatest Suggestion Yet" when only in your post do you discuss your suggestion. Make sure your thread title states your idea, to keep things organized and less confusing.
- Do not post "A Few Ideas" threads. If you have more than one idea ---first double check with the search button and the index thread to make sure they're fresh suggestions, and create a separate thread for each one with a relevant title.
- If you don't feel like creating a separate thread for each suggestion you have, post all of them in the Index of Ideas thread stickied at the top of the forum.
- Of course, keep this to suggestions only. Not builds, not rants or PvP vs PvE discussions, etc. This is the suggestions forum.
- Use the Search Button and check the Index thread to make sure you're not repeating an idea.
- Do it again.
